A long-wanted, dangerous suspect, accused or a series of robberies and murder in Hebron was finally caught by the Brits and Hartbeespoort police last week.
Peter Makhubele (30) allegedly committed a a number of robberies and a murder from February to March this year.
The Brits trio crimes task team, Hartbeespoort Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) as well as the Brits Operational Crime Combating Unit (OCCU) worked tirelessly to apprehend Makhubele, who was one of the most wanted suspects in the police precinct.
“The suspect’s hiding place was traced to Soshanguvhe, where he was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, 2 April. The police confiscated a large number of presumed stolen items that were found in the suspect’s possession. Police confiscated two firearms and ammunition, electrical equipment, a laptop, airtime vouchers, a car radio, wristwatches, 11 cellphones and four digital cameras. The suspect was also charged with the alleged possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as possession of suspected stolen property,” said Brits police spokesperson, Sergeant Sello Mokhutshoane.
Brits Cluster Commander, Major General Modisagaarekwe Mosimanegape, commended the members for their determination and positive attitude in fighting crime in the Brits and Hartbeespoort areas.
